A Yearlong Immersion in Embodied Healing, Depth Psychology, and Relational Transformation
PRESENTED BY MATT LICATA
“True healing is not a solo project. It asks that we slow down enough to listen — to the trembling of the nervous system, the longings of the soul, and the quiet presence of love that holds it all. To walk this path with kind-hearted friends and fellow travelers is to discover the sacredness of being human together.”
– MATT LICATA
Dear friends,
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the places in us that are tender, uncertain, or unfinished — the places where our humanity and our spirituality meet.
We live in a culture that encourages us to bypass our pain, stay busy, stay strong, stay certain. But real transformation asks something different of us. It asks us to slow down. To turn toward the body. To feel what we couldn’t feel before. To listen.
Over the years, in my clinical practice, in teaching, and in my own life, I’ve come to see that healing does not happen in isolation. It happens in relationship — in the presence of others who can hold us, witness us, and remind us of who we are when we forget.
This Mystery School is my way of offering that space. A yearlong sanctuary where we can breathe again. Where we can tend what aches and nourish what is coming alive. Where the body, the psyche, and the soul are invited to speak in their own languages.
My hope is that this becomes a home for you — a place where you feel accompanied, seen, and supported as you deepen into your own path of healing and awakening.
With warmth,
Matt

Welcome to the Mystery School
In a world that moves so quickly — where overwhelm, disconnection, and emotional exhaustion have become almost normal — many of us sense a longing to slow down, turn inward, and remember what is most essential.
We want a place where our inner life is welcomed. Where our sensitivity, our feelings and emotions, and our relational life are all not obstacles to our path, but doorways to it. Where our grief, confusion, longing, and creativity can be held with tenderness and respect.
Yet there are few spaces where psychological depth, somatic wisdom, and contemplative spirituality truly meet.
Therapy is often too limited for the full terrain of the soul, too cost-prohibitive, or we aren’t able to find the right practitioner. Spiritual circles can drift into bypassing, abstraction, or disembodiment. And many of us are left wondering where to bring the parts of ourselves that are still hurting, still waking, still becoming.
This is why I created The Mystery School — a living, yearlong holding environment where we gather as fellow travelers, committing to a path of healing, inner transformation, and embodied awakening.
What the Mystery School Is
The Mystery School is a sanctuary. A container. A rhythm and a home.
It is a yearlong immersion into deep psychological and spiritual work — held within a trauma-informed, somatically grounded, relational field of practice.
It’s not a “course” in the ordinary sense where you’re asked to accumulate more concepts or information. Nor is it a place to take on yet another (unending) project of self-improvement.
Instead, it is:
- a space to return to yourself, month after month
- a community of sensitive, sincere fellow travelers
- a vessel for healing old patterns and awakening new possibilities
- a place where emotion, imagination, and embodiment are honored as sacred teachers
- a modern reimagining of the ancient mystery schools — not in form, but in spirit
Throughout the year, we weave together:
- relational and depth psychologies
- somatic and trauma-informed practices
- contemplative and devotional spirituality
- shadow integration
- imaginal and archetypal exploration
- embodied meditation and inner inquiry
The Mystery School is ultimately a living field — warm, grounded, spiritually alive — where you can explore, unfold, and heal in your own time, within a safe and attuned community.
The Mystery School offers a consistent rhythm — a place you can return to week after week, where your inner life is welcomed and held. It is a refuge from the speed of the world and an invitation to unfold at a human pace.
What to Expect During Live Sessions
- Settling, grounding, and being in presence with one another through simple meditations and guided practices that soothe the nervous system, tend the heart, and open us to the Mystery of Being.
- Exploring and unfolding teachings and practices from the fields of somatic and depth psychotherapies; trauma studies and contemporary insights in the field of relational neuroscience, and the wisdom of the meditation and spiritual traditions — always held in a safe, empathic, and soul-centered way.
- Entering a true holding environment and healing relational field, with time to listen, share, and be seen. Here you can bring your questions and experience, knowing you’ll be met in warmth, care, and without judgment. Engaging on the path of healing and awakening withing the power and sensitivity of this community field is one of the most important dimensions of our work together.
“Matt’s understanding of the subtleties and nuances of the healing journey, and how meditation and psychological work fit together were a key for me which unlocked the door to a part of myself that I had forgotten about. The way he held my experience and contained it with such love and kindness allowed me to end the war with myself and to begin to perceive even my most challenging emotions and sensitivities as allies and just how he’s right when he says that the path really is everywhere. Spending time with him was a real fork in the road in my life, a true turning point that opened up a whole new way of being for me.”
–J.R., London
Who is this group for?
This Mystery School is for you if…
- You feel called to a deeper, more embodied spirituality.
- You want a place to tend old emotional patterns with compassion and curiosity.
- You long for a community that feels warm, grounded, psychologically aware, and spiritually sincere.
- You sense there are parts of you — younger, vulnerable, wise — that are waiting to be integrated.
- You’re seeking a trauma-informed approach to transformation that honors the body and nervous system.
- You’ve done some inner work and want a consistent container to continue unfolding.
- You’re craving a spiritual path that includes your emotions, your relationships, your somatic life, and the mystery of soul.
Wherever you are on your journey, we will meet together in the heart. We’ll explore the deep wisdom of the psychotherapeutic, meditative, and healing traditions in a way that encourages you to discover a true spirituality of your own, one that is attuned to your unique soul-print. In a sensitive, yet evocative holding environment, we’ll draw on the power of the relational field itself to catalyze embodied, lasting, compassionate transformation.
What We’ll Explore
Over twelve months, we’ll journey into the inner landscape of healing and spiritual transformation through themes such as:
Somatic Healing & Embodied Presence
Your body remembers what the mind has learned to push away. Together we’ll listen to somatic signals as messages, unwind long-held patterns, and work gently with activation, collapse, and shutdown. Over time, you’ll develop a felt sense of inner support and safety — a new home in your own body.

Healing in Relationship: Attachment, Boundaries & Early Imprints
Our earliest relationships shape how we love, protect, and defend ourselves. We’ll explore protective strategies, longings, fears, and the places where old pain still lives in the nervous system. Through compassionate inquiry, healthy boundaries, and embodied repair, you’ll experience new possibilities for connection — with yourself and others.

Shadow, Shame & Emotional Alchemy
We all carry parts of ourselves we’ve exiled. In this Mystery School, anger, grief, fear, and shame are not problems to solve, but gateways into deeper wholeness. We’ll learn to meet these emotions with presence and warmth, allowing them to transform into wisdom, vitality, and embodied authenticity.

Trauma-Informed Practice & Nervous System Healing
Trauma is not just a story — it lives in posture, breath, pace, and perception. You’ll learn to recognize survival patterns and work with them slowly and safely, honoring your own capacity. This trauma-informed foundation supports resilience, self-compassion, and lasting transformation.

The Deep Imagination & the Archetypal Layer
Dreams, symbols, inner figures, and mythic images will become companions on your path. We’ll explore imagination not as fantasy, but as a living bridge between psyche and soul — a way the deeper intelligence of your being speaks. Over time, you’ll learn to trust this subtle guidance.

Contemplative & Devotional Spirituality
We’ll cultivate practices of presence, meditation, and sacred attention that return you to the ground of your own heart. This is spirituality woven with emotion, relationship, and embodiment — not bypassing the human, but embracing it. A devotional, lived spirituality that includes the whole of you.

Soul, Mystery & Renewal
Healing unfolds in cycles — descent, stillness, emergence, renewal. We’ll explore the wisdom of the difficult times, the intelligence of darkness, and the transformative power of the unknown. Here, you’ll discover that uncertainty is not a failure of the path, but part of its alchemical rhythm.
These explorations are not linear. They move in spirals — like the seasons of the inner world — each one opening and deepening the others.

What Makes The Mystery School Different
Trauma-informed, but not clinical.
We draw on the wisdom of the nervous system and contemporary understandings of how healing unfolds, without losing the mystery, poetry, or sacredness of your inner life. Your patterns are not “symptoms” to eliminate but adaptations that once kept you safe. In this School, we approach them with curiosity, compassion, and reverence.
Spiritual, but not bypassing.
Awakening is not used as an escape from your human experience. We include the body, emotions, relationships, and shadow as essential gateways to transformation. Here, spirituality is lived — tender, embodied, and real.
Deep, but accessible.
You don’t need any specialized language, training, or background. The work meets you where you are and unfolds at a pace that honors your nervous system, your history, and your life circumstances. Depth is offered with clarity and gentleness.
Somatic, imaginal, and relational.
This is not a head-centered approach to spirituality or healing. We work with the intelligence of the body, the symbolic and archetypal dimensions of the imagination, and the profound medicine of the relational field. Transformation happens through experience, not concepts.
Held by a seasoned, psychologically trained guide.
You’ll be supported by over 30 years of experience in depth psychotherapy, trauma work, somatic practice, and contemplative spirituality. This is a rare integration — one that bridges science and soul, psyche and spirit, safety and mystery.
A consistent, gentle rhythm.
Healing and transformation cannot be rushed. A full year allows space to integrate, digest, revisit, and deepen — rather than pushing toward a quick breakthrough that doesn’t last. The Mystery School is a slow alchemy.
A real community.
Not a forum, not a passive comment section — but a living relational field where safety, attunement, and presence are cultivated. You’ll be part of a community of sincere, compassionate fellow travelers, walking this path together.

The rhythm of this container is designed so that you can engage with the teachings, practices, and relational field at the time that works best for you.
Each session is recorded, and you can move through the material at your own pace. The experiential practices, somatic meditations, and contemplative exercises are all created to support deep integration whether you’re attending live or working with the recordings. The field of the group is a living presence — one that you can enter and benefit from in your own timing, in the way that feels most supportive.
“I’m not sure I’ve ever been with a teacher or therapist who saw me so transparently and so lovingly. At first it was uncomfortable, scary, and I wasn’t sure if this was for me. But the kindness that came from Matt and his insight and presence into my wounding and vulnerability melted something within me. It was like years of conditioning came crashing down and I felt real love for myself and compassion for the little girl that was raging alive inside me. There is a way that I finally felt safe, to unravel and fall apart and be fully empowered, with him there next to me. After all the healing I had “thought” that I had done, Matt helped me to see that there were always deeper realms of the body and heart to excavate and open to the light. Also, just how human and real and authentic he is meant so much to me. He wasn’t “trying” to be someone he wasn’t, honest about his own biases and brokenness, and that just made it so much more natural for me to open.”
– J.P., New York

BONUS #1
Audio Webinar
Somatic Wisdom, Trauma, and the Healing of the Human Nervous System
Embodied Healing in the Here-and-Now
Modern healing approaches often overlook the intelligence of the body and nervous system. In this audio webinar, Matt explores how unresolved experience lives in the body, how safety and embodiment create the ground for transformation, and why nervous system healing is inseparable from the spiritual path.
You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the link between trauma and the sacred — along with practical ways to bring presence and compassion into your own healing journey.
BONUS #2
The Practice of Embodied Attunement
Illuminating the Unlived Life
Video Webinar
Each of us has parts of our experience we’ve had to push aside in order to cope — feelings or longings that once felt too overwhelming to face. In this bonus webinar, Matt explores how the practice of embodied attunement helps us welcome these lost pieces of ourselves back home.
Through presence, compassion, and body-based awareness, we learn to feel and integrate what was once exiled. This allows us to live with greater meaning, wholeness, and joy — and to touch more deeply into the richness of our own soul.
BONUS #3
Trauma and the Sacred Wound
Liberating the Lost Orphans of Psyche and Soma
eBook
Our deepest sensitivities and vulnerabilities are often bound up with the sacred. In this short eBook, Matt explores the profound — and sometimes hidden — connection between trauma and the holy, and how our wounds can become openings into meaning, love, and transformation.
While only an introduction to this vast territory, the eBook offers a way to begin exploring how trauma and spirituality intertwine, and how tending to our pain can also reveal a path into the mystery of the soul.
BONUS #4
An Integral Spirituality:
Vulnerability, Nonduality, and Illuminating the Unlived Shadow
Video Webinar
True spiritual transformation cannot be separated from our unresolved wounds. Trauma, attachment insecurity, and shadow material all live in the body and nervous system, shaping how we show up in the world.
In this webinar, Matt explores how spirituality and psychology weave together — and why meeting our vulnerability, grief, and rage with compassion is essential for an authentic spiritual life. You’ll discover what an embodied, integral spirituality looks like: one that honors both our radiant depths and our tender human wounds.
